Pokie Revenue Decline Cuts Community Sponsorship15 June 2005AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation: "Canberra's licensed clubs say they have been forced to reduce community sponsorship because of a big fall in poker machine revenue. "Bob Samarcq from Clubs ACT says poker machine revenue has fallen by about $9 million since the Government banned the use of $50 and $100 notes in poker machines. "Mr Samarcq says that means some clubs have cut back on the amount of money they contribute to local charities and sporting groups. "He says the situation will become worse when the ban on smoking indoors comes into effect.
