PokerTek reports expanded European distribution

17 April 2008

MATTHEWS, North Carolina -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerTek, Inc., the industry pioneer and worldwide leader in automated poker tables and related software, announced today the expansion of its distribution agreement for its Heads-Up Challenge product with Cosmic Video Amusements, which will now include coverage for all of Europe. Previously, Cosmic Video had partnered with PokerTek solely for distribution in the England and Southern Ireland markets.

"Our industry has needed a game like Heads-Up Challenge for some time now," said Terry Farr, CEO of Cosmic Video. "It's an entertaining game on an innovative platform that brings in a broad audience of players. We're pleased to cover Europe for PokerTek and believe there is great potential for growth in this market. Heads-Up Challenge is a jolt of energy to our industry."

"Success breeds success," said James Crawford, PokerTek's President. "Terry Farr and the team at Cosmic have done a great job for us in England thus far. They've invested energy, intellect and capital into launching Heads-Up Challenge and it has paid off by generating positive early results. We're pleased to have Cosmic as our representative for all of Europe."

March marked another milestone for Heads-Up Challenge, which experienced its 250th unit placement. That unit was placed by Fair Share Amusements at Kelly's Tavern in Chicago, Illinois, a classic south side Chicago bar.

"This game has been great for us," said Bill Babasco, owner of Kelly's Tavern. "Our regulars are having a ball playing it and we're seeing new people come in to give it a try. Heads-Up Challenge is a great addition to our establishment."

Heads-Up Challenge is a heads-up poker table targeted for bars and entertainment venues where adults compete in Texas Hold'em poker tournaments for amusement only.
