Poker Central showing sneak peek episode of 'Pokerography'

8 October 2015

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Poker Central, the world’s only 24/7 Poker TV network, today announced that it will give viewers an early look at Pokerography, the new, original series slated for its world premiere in early 2016.

The October 18 special sneak peek episode, "Pokerography: The Story of Phil Hellmuth," is an intensely personal and intimate portrait of Phil Hellmuth, Jr., who transitioned from a painfully awkward youth, desperate for his father’s acceptance, into one the most confident and famous poker professionals the world has ever seen. The episode features exclusive interviews with the “Poker Brat” himself and those who know him best, from his parents to his fiercest opponents.

“'Pokerography: The Story of Phil Hellmuth' is an exciting glimpse into the unique and original content that Poker Central will bring to poker fans,” said Dan Russell, senior vice president of Programming at Poker Central. “Pokerography, the series, is just one way that the network will help our viewers get to know the players behind the poker faces.”

Pokerography takes an in-depth look into the lives of some of the game’s most famous and gifted players. Each episode reveals the real world of these larger-than-life personalities, combining their personal stories, told in their own words, with the tales of family, friends and rivals. Other professional players to be portrayed in the 10-part series include: Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Michael Mizrachi, Chris Moneymaker, Erik Seidel, Vanessa Selbst, Jennifer Harman, Mike Sexton and Jason Somerville.

'Pokerography: The Story of Phil Hellmuth' premieres on October 18 at 8 p.m. ET. The entire series will premiere in early 2016, and is a production of Ampersand Media, Inc. and MTO Productions, Inc. with Executive Producers David Doyle and Bryan Curb and Supervising Producer Aaron E. Bauer.
