Poker Central and CakeWorks producing new documentary series "Insiders"

8 May 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Poker Central, the ultimate destination for fans of poker tournaments, cash games, and lifestyle away from the tables, partnered with CakeWorks, a full-service digital video agency. The two are producing a new short form documentary series titled “INSIDERS: Super High Roller Bowl 2018,” premiering 10 May on PokerGO. The series will feature three regulars on the high stakes circuit – Daniel Negreanu, Brandon Adams and Seth Davies – as they prepare for this year’s Super High Roller Bowl.

The seven-part series is produced in collaboration with Emmy-winning producer Jesse Cook, known for his work on the SHOWTIME original series “All Access.” The episodes will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at how these top-tier players prepare for one the most elite high stakes tournaments in the world. Viewers will see Negreanu, Adams and Davies make their mental and physical preparations in advance of the Super High Roller Bowl from start to finish. The first episode will be available for a limited time on Poker Central’s YouTube channel. After the May 10th premiere date, additional episodes will roll out in the weeks leading up to and immediately following the Super High Roller Bowl and will be available exclusively on PokerGO.

“We wanted to give our fans a new perspective on poker – an inside look at the training it takes for these high stakes players to be at the top of their game,” said Sam Simmons, said vice president of content at Poker Central. “We look forward to highlighting the intense preparation that Daniel, Brandon and Seth undergo in their own unique ways leading up to and throughout the Super High Roller Bowl.”

Nicknamed “Kid Poker,” Negreanu was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2014. Boasting more than $36 million in total live earnings, Negreanu is also ranked #1 on the worldwide all-time money list, has six World Series of Poker bracelets, two World Poker Tour titles, and is the only two-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) Player of the Year winner in the history of the WSOP. His fellow competitor, Seth Davies, has won over $1.9 million in live earnings. Davies claimed his first major live title in 2016 at the PartyPoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship. Brandon Adams has earned over $3.1 million in live events, his largest score hailing from the 2017 Poker Masters $50K, where Adams finished in first place for $819,000. This will be Negreanu’s fourth appearance in the Super High Roller Bowl, and the first for Davies and Adams.

“We’re delighted to debut this intimate series on PokerGO with our long-time partners at Poker Central,” said Rebecca Paoletti, co-founder and CEO of CakeWorks. “Poker Central’s extraordinary access gave us the ability to go beyond the tournament and peek inside secret poker worlds, both on and off the felt.”

The 2018 Super High Roller Bowl will take place at ARIA Resort & Casino from 27-30 May and is expected to feature 48 players, with 18 being VIP guest entrants. The buy-in is $300,000, with a non-refundable deposit of $30,000. The total prize pool is expected to exceed $14 million with the first-place winner receiving an estimated $5 million. Classified as an open event, the Super High Roller Bowl does not require an invitation to participate.
