Pokagon casino project update released

BRIDGMAN, Michigan -- As reported by the South Bend Tribune: "In less than six months, some 675 acres of once-quiet, rural New Buffalo Township farmland will be transformed into one of the region's busiest developments.

"Developers of the Four Winds Casino promise 'jobs galor'e" for Berrien County residents.

"Construction of the 230,000-square-foot casino is 'on budget and on time' for an anticipated early August grand opening, according to John Miller, the elected leader of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.

"…Miller and Matt Harkness, Four Winds general manager, provided a project update to local officials during a joint meeting of the Lake Township Board of Trustees and the Bridgman City Council.

"Miller ticked off numbers that summarized the project's size and significance: At least 2,100 employees, 12,000 daily visitors, seven restaurants, a 165-suite all-suite hotel, a parking structure for 2,000 cars, a mixed-use gaming facility with 3,000 slot machines and more than 100 game tables…"
