Plaza Hotel and Casino announces winners of $50,000 Royal Rewards Giveaway16 December 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Plaza Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas announced the three winners of its $50,000 Royal Rewards Giveaway. Plaza CEO Jonathan Jossel and former city of Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman joined together to pull the winning tickets and celebrate with the winners on the casino floor, Saturday, Dec. 12. Hailing from Evansdale, Iowa, Kathleen Bailey was the first place winner, winning $25,000 in cash and free slot play. While bingo is the main reason why she comes to the Plaza throughout the year, Bailey had won $750 playing slots just before the drawing that night. She plans to use her winnings to complete projects around her house. Eduardo Ramirez was the second prize winner and took home $15,000 in cash and free slot play. A resident of Simi Valley, California, Ramirez and his wife have been coming to the Plaza monthly to play bingo for the last 15 years. Just this August, they celebrated winning a combined $35,000 in one day playing bingo. As a winner in the $50K Giveaway, Ramirez used some of his winnings to play bingo that evening, but also planned to buy a new car. The third place winner was Marie Garcia of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who won $10,000 in cash and free slot play. The $50,000 Royal Rewards Giveaway began March 1 for members of the Plaza's Royal Rewards players club. Participants received one entry ticket into the grand prize drawing for every 25,000 points they earned in slot play. The live drawing was held Saturday night on the casino floor with hundreds of customers and Royal Rewards players in attendance. The three grand prizes were distributed as half cash and half free slot play. The Plaza's players club, Royal Rewards, is distinctly different from any other downtown casino loyalty program.
