Playa Games reports strong first quarter27 April 2011HAMBURG, Germany -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The German browser game publisher Playa Games reported the most successful quarter since the company’s inception. During the first three months of 2011 the young corporation recorded over 3 million Euros revenue over quarter for the first time. “If we continue to grow at this pace, we will achieve the total 2010 revenue before the end of the 2nd quarter”, commented Hannes Beuck, CEO of Playa Games GmbH. Beuck credits the success of the corporation primarily to the team’s expertise. With the appointment of Tobias Edl as Director Business Development another industry veteran has joined the company. Edl has almost seven years of experience as Senior Business Development Manager at online skill-based games company King.com. At Playa Games he is responsible for key account management along with his business development responsibilities. Edl reports directly to Marketing Director Bernd Heinisch, who previously held senior marketing positions at eBay Germany, Gamesload and Travian Games. “We are pleased that we have been able to enlist another expert for Playa Games with the addition of Tobias Edl”, says Heinisch. “Tobias Edl is working closely with Heinrich Lenhardt, who is responsible for North-American business development. We are confident this collaboration will create great synergies.” Software-Initiative Deutschland (SID – German Software Association) awarded Playa Games for being the fastest growing developer of browser games and recognized the quality of its titles. Because of the company’s roots in retail PC games development, its product quality has a significant quality advantage over other browser games developers. Playa Games has been able to leverage that know-how to set trends in the online games market. Accolades awarded to Playa Games, such as the “GameStar Award 2010” in the “Best Browser Game” category - beating competitors such as Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and Bigpoint - confirm the unique quality of the games. “With our latest title “BloodGame”, we have created the highest-quality browser game on the market. And we are on track to extend our lead even further in the future”, Beuck confidently stated.
