Pittsburgh bingo halls go electronic

"...Players use a keypad to enter the number into the electronic machines, which are a little smaller than a notebook. The cards are automatically marked. Cards on which the player is doing the best are displayed on the screen, and the newer models also show how many cards on which the called number appears. The machines are programmed to match each hall's game schedule.

"...Since players have more free time, halls are making more money from sales of food, drinks and instant tickets, said Jim Scholz, president of Bingo Visions, in McKees Rocks, which supplies electronic machines to about 30 halls in the area.
