Pinnacle wants Baton Rouge casino boat

LOUISIANA – As reported by the Advocate: "Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. has formally petitioned the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for permission to place a riverboat casino in Baton Rouge.

"Not much more is known, however, about the Las Vegas company's specific plans for what would be Baton Rouge's third casino. Pinnacle bought a 35-acre tract on River Road near Bluebonnet Boulevard in September.

"The four-page petition filed Friday and made available by the gambling board states that Pinnacle intends to berth a casino at a 'site to be located in East Baton Rouge Parish,' but does not elaborate. The petition makes reference to six exhibits that contain information such as a docking facility design, project financing and market studies.

"The exhibits, however, were not made available.

"…If approved by the Gaming Control Board, Pinnacle's attempt to enter the Baton Rouge market would first be put up for a local election…"
