Pinnacle Proposed Missouri Gaming Facility Approved

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- On June 1, the St. Louis County Council approved a resolution endorsing Pinnacle Entertainment's proposed $300 million gaming and mixed-use facility in the south St. Louis County community of Lemay, approximately 10 miles south of downtown St. Louis.

The Council's action followed the earlier recommendations of the St. Louis County Economic Council and Port Authority. The Council's four to two affirmative vote reflected the support demonstrated in the local community, where 76% of residents polled supported the $300 million facility.

Pinnacle has also been recommended by the City of St. Louis for construction of a $208 million casino and luxury hotel in downtown St. Louis.

"We appreciate the confidence in our proposal demonstrated by the St. Louis County Council," said Daniel R. Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle. "We've worked hard to design a project that fits well into the community, while also providing numerous well-paying jobs and significant tax revenues. The County Council's endorsement is an important step in helping us make this proposed project a reality."

The Missouri Gaming Commission has the ultimate authority to issue gaming licenses. Local support is one of the criteria that the Missouri Gaming Commission takes into consideration in evaluating potential issuance of additional gaming licenses.
