Pinnacle Entertainment meets with Atlantic City officials

"The company's attorney, Jack Plackter, said although the market may affect the casino's development, it will not change its drive to obtain all of the proper permits for that development.

"One targeted property, where the Park Lane Apartment Hotel sits, is owned by Vincent Barth, who didn't mind hearing on Wednesday that Pinnacle's development is now in question.

"...Wednesday's hearing also brought more good news to Barth and others like him after his attorney gave the Planning Board a copy of a recent New Jersey appeals court ruling that could affect the proposed Pinnacle redevelopment zone.

"...The delay comes a day after Dan Lee, Pinnacle's chairman, warned that the company may not build its proposed $1.5 billion megaresort unless the credit markets recover from the current lending crisis.

"In the meantime, Pinnacle representatives said the company continues to design the project and buy up surrounding land to increase the size of the development site..."
