Philippine Governor Wants More Policing

PHILIPPINES – As reported by the Global Nation: "CEBU Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia wants non-stop police operations against illegal gambling operators after receiving intelligence reports on the proliferation of video carrera machines in Pinamungajan, Bogo and Toledo City.

"She reiterated Thursday her warning to gambling operators and their protectors 'to be ready to get trampled upon.' Reports reaching the Capitol have linked police officials and politicians to illegal gambling in the province.

"'If there is no protection, there will be no operation', Garcia said. She, however, refused to divulge the identities of those behind the illegal gambling operations.

"…Garcia said police have to focus on only one operator who controls illegal gambling in the town of Pinamungajan and Toledo City…"
