Philippine Bishop: Pray for Enlightenment on Casino Issue

PHILIPPINES -- As reported by the Baguio Sun-Star: "The Baguio-Benguet Vicariate has requested Dawn Mass participants to offer a special prayer that members of the City Council would be enlightened enough to recall a resolution favoring the proposed operation of a casino inside Camp John Hay.

"Bishop Carlito Cenzon, told the congregation `we should stand up as Christians and as Catholics to denounce this bad problem' besetting Baguio.

"...Cenzon said the council should take into consideration the legacy that they would be passing on to the city's youth. "

"...The councilors and the Association of Barangay Councils said the setting-up of a gaming complex in Baguio would further boost the tourism and economy of the city..."
