Philadelphia suburb eyed for casino

PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer: "The Valley Forge Convention Center in Philadelphia's western suburbs, an area regarded as an untapped source of gambling customers, is being eyed as the site for a small slots casino.

"A group of investors might seek a state license to bring 500 slot machines to the center in King of Prussia, according to the local township manager and three other officials and business people familiar with the plan.

"Upper Merion Township, which would have to decide whether to approve a zoning variance for the project, was contacted by Cozen O'Connor lawyer Ross Weiss on behalf of an unnamed group of investors, Township Manager Ronald Wagenmann said Friday.

"…The Valley Forge Convention Center is owned by GF Management of Philadelphia, led by real estate investor Ira Lubert. Lubert and three other center officials did not return calls Friday…"
