PGCB meet in Pittsburgh20 June 2007ISBURG, Pennsylvania -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Representatives from Presque Isle Downs and The Meadows will provide updates on their first months of operation when the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board holds its regular meeting on Thursday, June 21, 2007 in Pittsburgh. Scheduled to address the Board on behalf of MTR Gaming Groups, Inc., operator of The Meadows, are Ted Arneault, President/CEO and Richard Knight, President/CEO/General Manager, along with Michael Graninger, Vice President and General Manager of Presque Isle Downs. Presque Isle Downs opened in January of this year and has seen $620 million wagered at its facility in Erie. Players at The Meadows, just in its second week of operation south of Pittsburgh, have wagered over $73 million. Together, the facilities have already returned $34.4 million of tax revenues back to the Commonwealth. In addition to hearing those reports and providing Board members with an opportunity to ask questions of these operators, the Board will conduct other business including the consideration of the adoption of regulations and cost recovery procedures by the Gaming Lab, and approvals of operator employees and vendors. The meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Conference Room A at the Omni William Penn Hotel at 530 Wm Penn Place and is open to the public. |
