Petition Opposed New York Casino

NEW YORK – As reported by the Buffalo News: "A petition bearing the signatures of more than 5,000 Erie County residents opposed to a casino on Buffalo's waterfront was presented Wednesday to State Sen. Byron W. Brown, D-Buffalo.

"Members of Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County presented the petition and sent copies to other federal lawmakers from this area.

"…The group's opposition is based on several factors, according to Bartley, including the fact that valuable waterfront property would be permanently removed from U.S. control by transfer to the Seneca Nation…"
