Petition drive against Middleboro casino proposal19 June 2007PLYMPTON, Massachusetts -- As reported by the South Boston Enterprise: "Residents opposed to a casino in neighboring Middleboro are gathering signatures in hopes that town officials will try to block the proposal. "But what they got in Town Hall Monday was a mixed reception. "Selectman Barry DeCristofano said he would like to take a pulse of the town's voters to determine their views of the proposal. "DeCristofano said he is not sure the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe will be true to its word that it would not build a casino in a spot where they are not welcome..." |
