Peru: Game Owners Owe the State More Than 260 Million Soles

LIMA, Peru -- As reported by Living in Peru: "Slot machine and casino owners have been fighting with the state over unpaid taxes worth some 260 million soles ($80 million), according to Sunat, the national tax collection body.

"72% of this money can't be touched until the judiciary clears up a slew of appeals, claims, protections, and contentious administrative processes, Lima's La Republica newspaper reported Monday.

"...Casinos currently pay 90 million soles ($28 million) annually in game tax..."
