Peppermill bets on family fun

RENO, Nevada – As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: "Peppermill saw some unusual betting activity this week, but not in the casino.

"Instead, Vicki McCarthy and her husband wagered which of their four grandchildren would burn through a bankroll slowest at the resort's new $1 million arcade. They brought the children, ages 5 to 12, for the grand opening on Monday, and guarded the children's stash of plastic dinosaurs and other prizes won by redeeming game tickets.

"…The new arcade is on the walkway between the parking garage and the casino, and replaces the older game room near the food court. The addition is part of Peppermill's $300 million expansion that is adding a new hotel tower, convention center, pool area, day spa and nightclub.

"It's not the largest arcade among Northern Nevada casinos at 6,000 square feet, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in spunk with 100 new games, players said…"
