Pennsylvania Ticket Wins $18.7 Million Jackpot17 March 2005MIDDLETOWN, Pennsylvania – (PRESS RELEASE) -- One Pennsylvania Powerball(R) winning ticket matched all five white balls, 11-19-25-38-50, and the red Powerball(R), 35, in the Wednesday, March 16, 2005, drawing. The winning ticket is worth $18.7 million. The winner has 60 days from the date he or she claims a prize to decide between a $18.7 million annuity paid over 29 years or a one-time payment of $10,166,550.04. The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the holder of the winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, contact a financial adviser, and then contact Lottery Headquarters, (717) 986-4720. The prize must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. A claim can be filed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pennsylvania Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the March 16, 2005, Powerball(R) jackpot winner until the prize has been claimed and the ticket validated. At this time, no claim has been filed. This is the fourth winning Powerball(R) jackpot ticket sold in Pennsylvania since the December 8, 2004, drawing and the second winning Powerball(R) jackpot ticket sold here in the last eight weeks. Pennsylvania sold the lone winning jackpot ticket for the January 22, 2005, Powerball(R) drawing worth $14,734,333.80 cash. The Powerball(R) jackpot returns to an estimated $10 million annuity and an estimated $5.4 million cash prize for the Saturday, March 19, 2005, drawing. Powerball(R) tickets are sold in 29 participating jurisdictions - 27 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. |
