Pennsylvania Licensing Hearings Start11 September 2006HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania – As reported by the Pocono Record: "Competition for slots casino licenses in Pennsylvania becomes more intense today with the start of licensing hearings. "For the next three months, the state Gaming Control Board will publicly examine applicants for the different categories of slot casinos to determine if they are fit to hold a state license. "Up first today and Tuesday are applicants for the conditional or 'early-bird' licenses for casinos that will be built adjoining established horse racetracks. They each have two hours to present their case. "…Suitability is the buzzword for these hearings. It's a catch-all word for what gaming officials and the state law regard as good attributes for slots licensees: having good character, financial viability and a solid business plan…" |
