Pennsylvania license applicant appeals decision

PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the New Jersey Express-Times: "A casino license applicant who lost out to proposals in Bethlehem and Monroe County filed an appeal of the decision Monday.

"Pocono Manor Investors LP asked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to review the license order issued Feb. 1 by the state Gaming Control Board. Pocono Manor, also in Monroe County, raises several procedural questions in the board's decision to grant a casino license to its nearest competitor, Mount Airy #1 LLC.

"…Monday was the deadline to appeal all three license orders with six appeals filed over the Philadelphia licenses and two over the Pittsburgh license. Pocono Manor's appeal seeks a second chance before the board to present additional evidence…"
