Pennsylvania launches problem gambling helpline

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania -– (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Health today announced it will begin operating a problem gamblers information line on Friday, Dec. 8.

The toll-free information line, 1-877-565-2112, will be answered by trained Department of Health specialists who will provide confidential assistance to callers throughout Pennsylvania.

The information line will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After-hours callers may leave a message and they will get a call back on the next business day.

Callers will be provided resources such as pamphlets and brochures regarding problem gambling; referral to counseling services; and related information. This service will provide assistance to anyone seeking information or help for themselves, a friend or a family member.
