Pennsylvania Commission Appointee Lied About Education

PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the KYW News 1600: "Pennsylvania gambling commission appointee Frank Friel admits he misrepresented his educational background by incorrectly stating during sworn testimony three years ago that he had earned master's and bachelor's degrees.

"Friel, a former police and security officer, told the Connecticut Division of Special Revenue in 2001 that he had 'completed a bachelor's degree' at Eastern College and that he had 'completed a master's degree' at St. Joseph's University.

"…The registrar of Eastern University (formerly Eastern College), a Christian school in the Philadelphia suburb of St. Davids, said Friel earned enough credits to graduate but did not receive a degree.

"St. Joseph's officials said there was no indication Friel earned a master's degree there…"
