Pennsylvania casinos say six to nine months for table games

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania -- As reported by The Standard Speaker: "Six to nine months.

"Pennsylvania gaming executives and regulators have long delivered that answer when asked how long it would take to add poker, blackjack, craps and other dice and card games to casinos around the state once given the legislative go-ahead.

"They said the same thing Friday, and their answers - though guarded - carried more weight following the announcement of a long-awaited budget compromise supported in part with expected tax revenue from legalizing table games.

"...Casino executives are hopeful table games would greatly boost their appeal and pull customers from farther away by providing a wider range of entertainment for gamblers with different tastes. The games would also strengthen Pennsylvania casinos' positions in the increasingly crowded regional gaming picture; New York, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia and most recently Maryland have codified commercial casino development..."
