Pennsylvania casino to celebrate St. Patrick's Day9 March 2012CHESTER, Pennsylvania -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Guests coming to Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack on Saturday, March 17th will probably feel like they discovered a four-leafed clover in a patch of grass because the casino and race-track is throwing the biggest St. Patty Day’s celebration in the Tri-State Area. With Irish drink staples, classic pub grub, a grudge match between US vs. Ireland, and a performance by Celtic rock sensations Blackthorn, Harrah’s Chester is giving new meaning to the ‘luck of the Irish.’ “Food and beverage specials, USA vs. Ireland Rugby match, and a set by Blackthorn round out what can only be described as an epic St. Patrick’s Day at Harrah’s Chester,” said Ron Baumann, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Chester. “Guests looking to experience everything that this holiday, steeped in tradition, has to offer have come to the right place.” Harrah’s Chester would like to wish a happy St. Patrick's Day with food and beverage specials that honor this Gaelic holiday. Beginning on Saturday, March 17th and lasting throughout the day each of the property’s restaurants and bars will offer $3 Jameson and $3 Killians from 4-6pm and $3 Miller Lite beers until midnight. Additionally, guest will find such holiday food specials as Reuben sliders (swiss cheese and red onion relish), Chicks "n" chips (chicken-tenders and waffles), Potato cakes (corn beef, sauerkraut and aioli dressing), St. Crabby’s Day (crab, gaufrette potatoes, watercress salad, and remoulade dressing), all for only $5 each. Looking for a good old fashion scrum, well then Quick Stadium at Widener University is the place to be, as the International Rugby League is treating fans to The Donnybrook Cup. This Harrah’s Chester sponsored Rugby match will pit old rivals, USA vs. Ireland, against one another to see once and for all who is best team. Furthermore, Harrah's Chester will be hosting events with both Rugby teams, USA Tomahawks and Ireland Wolfhounds, in the week leading up to the Donnybrook Cup showdown and all fans are welcome to come and meet the players from both teams: · Donnybrook Cup Welcome Reception at the End Zone Sports Bar at Harrah's on Thursday 3/15 at 7pm · Donnybrook Cup Press Conference at the Cove at Harrah's on Friday 3/16 at 1pm The Game Day Schedule will be a celebration of the sport of rugby on St. Patrick's Day featuring both rugby union and rugby league matches for fans throughout the region to enjoy:- 10am - Hibernians RUFC v North East Irish RUFC 11:15am - Monsignor Bonner v St. Augustine Prep High School 12:45pm - Pre Match Ceremony 1pm - Donnybrook Cup Kickoff, USA vs. Ireland 1:45pm - Halftime Entertainment 2:40pm - Post Match Ceremony Once the match concludes, the St. Patty’s Day faithful will head to Harrah’s Chester and its Grand Stand where Philadelphia Irish rock legends, Blackthorn, will provide the soundtrack.
