Pennsylvania casino kicks off WSOP Circuit action

CHESTER, Pennsylvania -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Be a part of history beginning on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 as Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack will kick-off the first-ever World Series of Poker Circuit Events in the State of Pennsylvania. The longest, biggest and richest poker tournament series in the world is set to begin in search of the next World Series of Poker star. The high-stakes action of the World Series of Poker, the richest sporting event on the planet, makes its first-ever circuit-stop at Harrah’s Chester from April 27 through May 10, 2011.

The World Series of Poker Circuit schedule for Harrah’s Chester will include 38 tournament events, with buy-ins ranging from $50 for the Super Satellite event to $1,500 for the No-Limit Hold’em Championship. With over 75 tables ready for poker action, this event should bring some of the very best talent to the City of Chester.

In addition to first-place prize money and the coveted WSOP Circuit gold ring, the winner of the $1,500 buy-in, championship event will earn an automatic seat to the WSOP Circuit National Championship to be held May 27-29 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Through the 15 official stops of the 2010/2011 WSOPC season, 100 players will qualify for a seat in the National Championship where they will compete for their share of $1 million in prize money and the WSOP bracelet.

Winners of the other nine official WSOP Circuit Ring Events at Harrah’s Chester will take home the ring along with first place prize money. Players will also earn points toward a seat to the WSOPC National Championship for their performance in these events.

The player who earns the most points throughout the Circuit Series at Chester will be awarded an automatic seat to the WSOPC National Championship.

Along with first place prize money, the winner of the WSOP Ladies Only No-Limit Hold’em event will receive a beautiful diamond-encrusted, gold WSOP Circuit pendant commemorating the championship.

Beginning at 9:00am on April 27, players can register at the Registration Desk located on the simulcast level. Registration must be done in person and all registrants must have a Total Rewards card, which can be obtained at either the Poker Room or the Total Rewards Center.
