Pease wins Card Player Poker Tour Main Event at Foxwoods27 February 2014(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Card Player Poker Tour Foxwoods wrapped up February 18th at Foxwoods Resort Casino & MGM Grand at Foxwoods by crowning Ronnie Pease the main event champion. Pease outlasted a field of 340 players in the $1,650 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event and bested World Series of Poker bracelet winner Chris Tryba heads-up to take home $91,347. After about four hours of heads-up play the two agreed to an even chop and played for the CPPT trophy and the title. "Chris is a friend. It was weird playing heads-up with a friend but it was fun," Pease said. "He is a really good player. It was a long battle, but I’m happy." Pease joins Harvey Vandeven (bestbet Jacksonville - $76,598) and John McNulty (Palm Beach Kennel Club - $68,191) on the list of Card Player Poker Tour Season II champions. |
