Paradise Fire Reward Increased10 March 2004RINCON, California -- As reported by the North County Times: ``The Rincon Luiseno Band of Indians has authorized a $25,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of whomever started the Paradise fire, tribal Chairman John Currier said Tuesday. ``That brings the total reward offer to $36,000, $10,000 of it from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Two people died in the October blaze that started Oct. 26 on the Rincon Reservation. ``The forestry department might put in more money to bring the reward to about $50,000, CDF fire Capt. Tom MacPherson said. ``... Currier said the reward was announced because the forestry department has found that the fire is an arson case ``Authorities are asking anyone with information to call (800) 468-4408 or (800) 47-ARSON..." |
