Palms Casino Resort debuts non-smoking gaming expansion

3 September 2026

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Now open at Palms Casino Resort, a new 7,300-square-foot, fully enclosed non-smoking gaming space is giving guests even more ways to play with more than 200 of the newest and most popular slot games, its own full-service bar and a new permanent Al Vapor Street Tacos food truck.

Palms officially celebrated the expansion Tuesday, Sept. 1, beginning with the inaugural Spin It Forward IGT Charity Slot Challenge, which ultimately resulted in $35,000 in contributions to 10 Southern Nevada organizations. Following the charity event, Palms General Manager Kevin Glass and Assistant General Manager Laura De La Cruz cut the ribbon, officially opening the new gaming space and welcoming the public.

“Guest feedback was a driving force behind this expansion, and it was incredibly rewarding to officially open the doors and see the excitement around the space,” said Kevin Glass, General Manager of Palms Casino Resort. “This is about giving our guests more choice and another great way to experience Palms, while continuing to invest in what they tell us they want. Starting the celebration by supporting 10 deserving local organizations made the day even more meaningful.”

Located near the William Hill Sportsbook, the new space offers a distinct, fully enclosed non-smoking gaming environment separate from the main casino floor. Its game lineup represents nearly a dozen leading gaming manufacturers and features a broad mix of the latest and most popular slot titles.

SPINNING IT FORWARD
Ahead of the public Grand Opening, familiar Las Vegas personalities teamed with representatives from 10 local organizations for the inaugural Spin It Forward IGT Charity Slot Challenge.

Through the support of the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, each participating organization began the day with a guaranteed $2,500 donation. The tournament-style slot challenge, presented with IGT, then put an additional $10,000 in charitable contributions up for grabs, with every organization adding to its guaranteed donation based on its finish in the tournament.

Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund, teamed with BMX legend Ricardo Laguna, took the top spot, earning an additional $3,000 and bringing its total contribution from the event to $5,500.

In total, $35,000 was distributed among the 10 participating Southern Nevada organizations, with every charity leaving the celebration with more than its guaranteed $2,500 donation.

Participating organizations included Heaven Can Wait Animal Society; UNLV Chapter of Advancing Indigenous Science & Engineering Society; Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund; Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Training Fund; S.A.F.E. House; Vegas PBS; The Ability Center; Make-A-Wish Nevada; Springs Preserve Foundation; and Teach For America Nevada.

MORE THAN GAMING
The new non-smoking gaming space also features its own full-service bar with a beverage program distinct to the space including a selection of beers from local breweries that can exclusively be found at Palms only at this bar. Guests attending the Grand Opening sampled specialty cocktails and other selections.

The celebration also marked the debut of Al Vapor Street Tacos, a new permanent food truck located on the patio of the non-smoking gaming space, with guests sampling selections from its menu throughout the event.

The new non-smoking gaming expansion is now open at Palms Casino Resort, located near the William Hill Sportsbook.
