Palm Beach Kennel Club adopts out 56 greyhounds1 June 2017(PRESS RELEASE) -- April is National Greyhound Pet Adoption Month and Palm Beach Kennel Club Poker Room featured several activities to celebrate the month. As a result, 56 greyhounds found their forever homes. PBKC sponsored "Free Adoptions" for the entire month of April. In addition, PBKC rolled out their "Greyhound Make Greyt Pets" plan of action upping their promotion and advertising with the message that greyhounds make gentle and loving pets. Palm Beach Kennel Club works with and supports Awesome Greyhound Adoptions, Elite Greyhounds, Forever Greyhounds, Greyhound Pet Adoptions/Florida Southeast and Greyed A Greyhounds to find good homes for retired Greyhounds. "We are so very fortunate to work with these great adoption groups who are dedicated to finding loving homes for this special breed of dog," said Theresa Hume, Director of Publicity at PBKC. "Each group is made up of volunteers who take care of the retired racers and interview and check out potential adoptees to find the right dog for the right person or family. They are also very active in the community, participating in special events and festivals, visiting schools, nursing homes, pet stores and more. We thank them for all they do!" Palm Beach Kennel Club is also sponsoring "Free Adoptions" for the entire month of October. The adoption groups offer applications online and will interview potential families. Once applicants are approved, the pets are placed and the groups offer continued support. PBKC implemented a very aggressive "Greyhounds Make Greyt Pets" campaign to show the commitment to finding homes for retired racers to our fans and to the general public. This included: new track banners, program ads, flyers, posters, TV commercial and Info Channel ad, adoption t-shirts for staff, employee pet info packets, adoption billboard message, radio ads and greyhound pet participation in all PBKC event including Hounds & Heroes at chamber events. Rooney's Golf Foundation will also feature one of the adoption groups as a charity recipient in all events including a poker tournament, two golf tournaments, the 5K Run/Walk and the Overcomer Luncheon. |
