PAGCOR Hit for 'Mobsterlike' Takeover of Subic Casino16 May 2006SUBIC BAY, Freeport –- As reported by ABS-CBN Interactive (Philippines):"Legenda Casino CEO Khoo Boo Boon hit back at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) for what he calls a "mobsterlike takeover" of its facilities last Friday. "'…They were very rude and they forcibly entered the casino and harassed our security staff, casino personnel and other guests,' Boon told local press…" "Boon insisted that Legenda Casino has no financial obligation to PAGCOR. …it is PAGCOR that owes Legenda around P300,000 in nominal and attorneys fees… "Legenda Casino is now bringing criminal charges against PAGCOR… "…PAGCOR said it revoked the casino's license because it has allowed cockfighting and has failed to pay the government more than P365 million in gaming license fees." |
