Paddy Power launches Irish Open betting markets

DUBLIN, Ireland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Paddy Power Poker has launched its betting markets for the Irish Open 2013.

The Outright Betting sees 2011 World Series of Poker finalist Eoghan O’Dea top the market at 66/1. O’Dea is closely followed at 80/1 by a trio of top Irish players Mick Graydon, Jude Ainsworth and Jason Tompkins.

Former Irish Open champion Neil Channing is 150/1 along with well known Irish names Nicky Power, John O’Shea and Dermot Blaine while fellow English raider and Sole Survivor Ian Simpson is 200/1.

The Irish bookmaker also hosts six match bets:

Barney Boatman (evens) vs. Surinder Sunar (8/11)
Nicky Power (8/11) vs. Neil Channing (evens)
Jude Ainsworth (evens) vs. Eoghan O’Dea (8/11)
Noel Furlong (8/11) vs. George McKeever (evens)
John O’Shea (evens) vs. Jason Tompkins (8/11)
Noel Hayes (8/11) vs. Padraig Parkinson (evens)

Elsewhere there is market asking “Will a Sole Survivor win the Irish Open” with the bookie offering 2/1 that they will.

The “Nationality of the Winner” market sees Irish favourite at 13/8, England second in the betting at 2/1, American 8/1, Canadian 8/1 and Scottish, Swiss and Finnish 25/1.

Finally the suit of the final card is 11/4 for each of heart, club, diamond, and spade.

Paddy Power, spokesman for the bookmaker, said, “The Irish Open is famed for its betting markets and we’ve been nailed by punters many times in the past. With nine markets already open there’s something for everyone and all pockets and the one thing we’re sure of is that there’s always a surprise in store!”

Paddy Power Poker is currently hosting the Irish Open Last Chance Saloon with guaranteed seats every evening for the next week ahead of the €2,250 buy in main event taking place live at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin from March 29 to April 1, 2013.
