Packer's new companies on stock exchange6 December 2007AUSTRALIA -- As reported by the Australia News: "James Packer's corporate strategy will face its first market test this morning, as the two new companies created from the split of his Publishing and Broadcasting empire make their stock exchange debut. "Today's share market opening will see the creation of a new $2.5 billion-plus media group, Consolidated Media Holdings, and a $10 billion casino company, Crown. "The debut of the two new companies has seen the historic disappearance of the PBL name from the ranks of Australia's listed companies, more than 14 years after it came into existence out of the merger of the Nine Network and Australian Consolidated Press..." |
