Packer to participate in charity poker tournament

AUSTRALIA -- James Packer, son of well known high-roller Kerry Packer, will appear as a celebrity entrant in a Crown charity poker tournament tomorrow, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The casino had to apply for a special exemption for Mr Packer to participate, as Crown employees are not permitted to gamble at the casino, The Sydney Morning Herald said.

The tournament will raise funds for cricketer Shane Warne's foundation, the report noted.
