Pa. bills aim to stop kids being left in cars at casinos

14 November 2011

PENNSYLVANIA -- Lawmakers in Pennsylvania are trying to introduce legislation that would prohibit people leaving children in cars at casinos while they gamble, according to the Times-Leader.

House Bill 120 will prohibit any driver "from leaving a child younger than 14 in a vehicle unattended on casino property", the report said.

Another bill would also see people excluded from casinos who leave children in cars while gambling, by adding them to casino exclusion lists, The Times-Leader reported.

The proposed bills have drawn criticism from some in the casino industry who feel the proposed laws unfairly "target" the casino industry, the report noted.
