Over half a billion wagered in Arizona in April

5 July 2022

(PRESS RELEASE) -- April was another strong month of event wagering for Arizona with over half a billion dollars in total money wagered, according to a new report by the Arizona Department of Gaming.

“Event wagering levels continue to look strong in Arizona, with over half a billion dollars wagered during April,” said Ted Vogt, Director, ADG. “I am excited to see how the state closes out its first year of legal event wagering in the coming months.”

As wagers continue to rise and the market develops, Arizona is gearing up to host Super Bowl LVII in February 2023 as the first state with legal sports betting to host the event.

Event wagering operators accepted over $512 million dollars in wagers during the month, resulting in approximately $1.6 million dollars in privilege fees contributed to the state.
