Ottawa: Gambling addicted priest to leave church2 May 2011OTTAWA -- An Ottawa priest whose church finances were recently audited will depart from his parish church, according to the Ottawa Citizen. Father Joe LeClair admitted he liked to gambled but has denied he misappropriated church funds to cover his nearly $500,000 visa bill from casino cash advances, the report said. Muldoon has agreed to seek treatment for his gambling addiction, asked his parishioners to pray for him and thanked the Diocese for the care they are giving him during this time, The Ottawa Citizen reported. |
