Oro City Group Supports Casino

PHILIPPINES – As reported by the Philippines Sun Star: "Mayor Vicente Emano has been floating it around time and time again but this year it's the turn of members of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc. to ventilate their support for the establishment of a casino in the city. And as is always the case, the Cagayan Archdiocese is staying pat on its stance to oppose the entry of the casino here in Cagayan de Oro.

"In a radio interview, Oro Chamber President Ruben Vegafria said the establishment of the casino would help draw in more foreign tourists to the city, thus translating to more investment opportunities and employment to city residents.

"Emano had been vocal about his support for a casino in Cagayan de Oro, pointing to the influx of new hotels in the city which he said are capable of hosting casino operations…"
