Oregon Tribal Casino Overview Revealed1 November 2005VANCOUVER, Oregon – As reported by the Oregonian: "A sprawling glass-encased structure with an eight-story hotel would transform La Center-area farmland into a casino-resort under a Cowlitz Indian Tribe proposal. "That vision emerges as the preferred option for developing 152 acres on the west side of the La Center-Interstate 5 junction. "An overview of the casino-resort complex, as well as descriptions of four other development options, are included in a preliminary draft of the environmental impact statement. "In addition to project details, the document describes impacts on transportation, social issues, the natural environment and details such as water and sewage use. "…The casino and meeting area would be contained in a two-story, glass-paneled structure. In addition to a sprawling gambling floor with 135 gambling tables and 20 poker tables, the architect's drawing features a seating area for 5,000 people…" |
