Orange Sky at Talking Stick Resort wins Wine Spectator magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence18 August 2022(PRESS RELEASE) -- Talking Stick Resort, an enterprise of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, is proud to announce that its signature fine-dining restaurant, Orange Sky, has once again been the recipient of Wine Spectator magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence. The restaurant has received the award every year since 2016. “Orange Sky offers guests a culinary journey through local, sustainable, and culturally-rooted cuisine expertly paired with wines from around the world, so we’re honored to be recognized for our outstanding wine list again this year by Wine Spectator,” said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Talking Stick Resort. “Our wine list is something we’re quite proud of, as is our whole dining experience. Between the recommendations and talents of our Chef de Cuisine and our wine sommelier, our team will guide guests through the menu to find the perfect dish along with its perfect wine companion.” Wine Spectator is widely considered the insider’s guide to wine and fine dining. It evaluates wine lists at restaurants in consideration for three awards. In addition to the Best of Award of Excellence, awards given by the publication annually include, Award of Excellence and Grand Award. This year, Orange Sky was one among more than 1,290 restaurants to receive the Best of Award of Excellence accolade in 2022. As an award recipient, the upscale eatery will be featured in Wine Spectator’s 31 August edition. To qualify for a Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator, the restaurant’s wine list must showcase a breadth of wine-growing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation and a selection of 350 or more wines.Best of Award of Excellence restaurants are destinations for serious wine lovers, showing a deep commitment to wine, both in the cellar and through the service team. The wine list at Orange Sky features a selection of over 450 bottles and 30 wines by the glass, with a strength in California, French, and Italian wines. A dramatic, glass wine room displays more than 100 of its white wine selections in a temperature controlled environment of 42 degrees, while red wines are stored at 56 degrees in hand-crafted, cedar wood wine racks enclosing the Sommelier table. All of Orange Sky’s wines are served in lead crystal glassware, fitting to the varietal. Nestled on the 15th floor of Talking Stick Resort, the fine-dining restaurant features fresh seafood, flavorful steaks and just-harvested vegetables. With its 360-degree views of the Valley’s signature orange sunsets, Orange Sky has a versatile menu that will satisfy all tastes. |
