Ontario Lottery Chairman Ousted

ONTARIO – As reported by the Kingston Whig-Standard: "Stanley Sadinsky, a retired Queen's University law professor and gaming law expert, has been ousted from his political appointment as chairman of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation after serving less than seven months of a three-year term.

"A longtime Tory and personal friend of former premier Ernie Eves, Sadinsky served nine years as chairman of the Ontario Racing Commission before he was appointed head of the lottery and gaming corporation in August 2003.

"He was replaced three weeks ago by Timothy Reid, dean of business at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto and a former Liberal MPP.

"…'The government decided to make some changes at the top ... and it did,' Sadinsky said.

"…Sadinsky has accepted a consulting contract with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Health on problem gambling.
