Ontario Casino Likely Subject to Smoking Ban

TORONTO, Ontario – As reported by the Canadian Press: "Gamblers who smoke will likely have to butt out when they visit Ontario casinos once the province passes its proposed anti-smoking legislation, Health Minister George Smitherman suggested Tuesday.

"Smitherman promised to introduce legislation before the holiday break that would impose a total ban on smoking in all public buildings and places of employment across the province.

"…Premier Dalton McGuinty insisted second-hand smoke is a serious health concern for all workers, but noted casino operators are worried about a drop in business if gamblers are told they can no longer light up…"
