Online Ads Target Problem Gamblers

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the (Australia) Telegraph: "Gambling addicts are being bombarded by 'pop-up' ads for online casinos while using the nation's premier self-help website.

"…The ads have been tied to the Gamblers Anonymous message board, probably by offshore online casinos trying to lure problem gamblers to their websites.

"Gamblers Anonymous said it was unable to block the ads.

"As a result it has posted a warning to users on the homepage at www.gamblersanonymous.org.au

"The warning reads: "Please be aware that there are pop-up advertisements in the top panel of the message board. Some of them are for online gambling, and it is recommended that you do not click any of the links."
