One Man's Crusade for Casinos

TEXAS – As reported by the Houston Chronicle: "Horse and dog-track owners are spending millions to hire lobbyists and fill politicians' campaign coffers in an effort to legalize video slot machines.

"And then there's Bill Storrs.

"The former Houston police officer is spending his own money to promote casinos through the Internet.

"…Storrs, 43, is on medical retirement and uses a wheelchair because of an off-duty motorcycle accident. He's an infrequent gambler, but says that what's good for states such as Louisiana could be a tonic for Texas.

"…Storrs believes his effort could have more impact than the lobbyists. He envisions signing up millions of Texans and using his Web site to identify opposing politicians…"
