One L.A. Flight to be Cut

24 August 2004

Las Vegas Sun

Southwest Airlines will eliminate one nonstop round trip between Las Vegas and Los Angeles when it revamps its schedule in October.

The Dallas-based airline, the busiest commercial passenger carrier at McCarran International Airport, confirmed Monday that it plans to eliminate 88 flights systemwide in October and reallocate aircraft to more lucrative markets. The airline operates about 2,800 every day.

The reduction of the flight to and from Los Angeles International Airport will leave the carrier with 14 daily operations there.

McCarran officials say Southwest operates an average 187 flights a day to and from Las Vegas.
