Oklahoma Senators Approved Cockfighting Vote

OKLAHOMA – As reported by the Oklahoman: "Oklahoma senators approved a proposed statewide vote to reduce the penalties for cockfighting.

"When the vote ended, Sen. Frank Shurden stood, turned toward a gallery full of gamefowl breeders and gave them the 'thumbs up' sign.

"Since voters approved a cockfighting ban in 2002, Shurden has been battling to get the penalties reduced from felonies to misdemeanors…"
