Oklahoma off-track wagering compact approved

QUAPAW, Oklahoma –- As reported by the Tulsa World: "The Bureau of Indian Affairs has approved a compact between the Quapaw Tribe and the state of Oklahoma for the tribe to hold off-track wagering at its new Downstream Casino.

"With the approval of the compact, published in the Federal Register on Tuesday, the new Downstream Casino Resort, located partially in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas about five miles west of Joplin, Mo., will open its horse-racing book at 11 a.m. Wednesday, casino spokesman Sean Harrison said.

"The casino, in partnership with Remington Park in Oklahoma City, will feature simulcasts of thoroughbred, quarter horse and harness racing, with 15 televisions, seating for about 60 people, one live teller, two self-service terminals, food service from the Buffalo Grille restaurant and daily scheduling programs, Harrison said…"
