Ohio track reaches agreement for $13 million slot license

DAYTON, Ohio -- As reported by the Dayton Daily News: "Lebanon Raceway owners said they are working on a partnership with the mega food service company Delaware North and expect to fork over their first $13 million installment soon to the state for a video slot machine license.

"Delaware North is a billion dollar hospitality management and food services company based in Buffalo, N.Y. The company handles concessions at places such as Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati and the Cleveland Browns Stadium.

"Keith Nixon Jr., representing raceway owners, said they didn't want to gamble paying the state the large amount until their new partnership is consummated.

"Nixon traveled to the Ohio Lottery offices in Cleveland to apply for the VLT permits on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Lebanon Raceway and six other tracks across the state turned in its $100,000 application fee, but not the license fee. Two tracks turned in the $13 million license fee on Tuesday and another ponied up the cash on Thursday..."
