Ohio petition filled for casino vote

OHIO -- As reported by the Columbus Business First: "A Cleveland-area group pushing a plan to develop Ohio's first gambling casino says it has enough signatures to put the Clinton County proposal on the November ballot.

"Beachwood-based MyOhioNow.com said it has collected more than 400,000 signatures to bring the issue to a statewide vote. Rick Lertzman, who heads MyOhioNow with Brad Pressman, said the initiative calls for a $600 million casino resort to be developed about midway between Columbus and Cincinnati.

"The project, proposed with Minneapolis-based Lakes Entertainment Inc., would include a 220,000-square-foot casino with up to 5,000 slot machines, 100 gambling tables and a 1,500-room hotel. The resort would be built off Interstate 71 at Route 73..."
